Unmasking the Demons of Jim Jones in Modern Churches
A Repeat of 1978 Is Upon Us
The title is a strong statement, and one I would not make if: a) God had not released me to say it and 2) I had not lived it myself. A repeat of the 1978 mass suicide (murder) is upon us, and God is calling for the Church to not only pray but to pay very close attention. The Lord is calling us to be sensitive to His Spirit like never before because evil is at an all time high, and one of hell’s missions is to take out those blind under demonic church leaders.
I want to submit a scripture to the viewers as one to examine: When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first." –Matthew 12:43-45 (KJV)

When He had come to the other side, to the country of the [a]Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time? Now a good 632way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, [b]permit us to go away into the herd of swine. And He said to them, “Go.” So when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and perished in the water. Then those who kept them fled; and they went away into the city and told everything, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from their region. –Matthew 8:28-34 (NKJV)
As we can see from these two scriptures, there is a common thread – demons operate through human bodies. Demons also search for bodies it can inhabit. Unbelievers can deal with possession while Believers deal with oppression from these entities, but understand until the time comes for demons walking the earth to be casted permanently into hell, they will lurk looking for willing unrepentant human beings. A once believer who chooses to remain unrepentant, blind, and puffed up in pride can become possessed with a demon again.
An untrained spiritual eye will label Jim Jones as someone who was demented, crazy, narcissistic, evil, many other things. And while many, if not all, of those labels would be true, things are first spiritual before they are natural. The personalities and characteristics of Jim Jones became wickeder, showing how the inhabitation of demons became greater to the point where he was possessed with a spirit convincing him that suicide was appropriate. This man started as a leader without proper accountability, built leaders around him who were agreeable, and was able to deceive almost 1000 people to the point of the nation’s largest mass suicide to date.
The beginning of this man did not start as someone wicked. The devil used this man in levels, and having been delivered from a cult and who was personally up-close to that leader, I am now confident to share how sadistic, cunning, and eerily patient the devil is in his planning of the destruction of human life.
Jim Jones' deception, abuse, and manipulation lured people to stages in obedience to him. When people are leaving their families and flying to another country to live communally with a pastor because "they said" or "God said", know the next level is eerily similar to November 18, 1978.
By the Spirit and the authority of the Lord, I can boldly state the church needs to be aware that a very heinous demon has entered into many church buildings: demons of pride, Jezabel, and sadly death. Many churches are not safe places, not even for those who have been around for several years. There are several that have fallen into the category of occultic, and the Lord has declared the inner workings of these places as Intolerable.
Most often people attribute poor leadership in church buildings to mega churches and those constantly shown throughout social media. However, the Lord wants it to be made known that there are several, several unknown churches that have turned into cults and are abusing and beating His sheep behind closed doors.
Tonight’s teaching is to equip the Body to:
Understand the depth of this darkness
Know how to pray
Stand up against these behaviors
A brief background:
In 2016 I joined what I thought was a church of God. I joined as an unhealed person, desperate for love and affection. Much like all of the membership there, I came from a broken background. Desperate for family, belonging, and love, I accepted a woman who preferred to be called “mommy” and who everyone referenced her as in their lives. She stated she could hear God and would accurately give information about people. Despite God’s initial warning, I joined the congregation and immediately was assigned to become her armor bearer (personal slave).
My time there was a slow progression into wickedness and divination where I was often abused over the years – mentally, emotionally, psychologically, financially, sexually and trafficked for over 10 years.
Very similarly to Jim Jones, the leader had a way of deceiving the congregation. A man born into childhood trauma and brokenness did not resolve his trouble before the Lord. He did not stop to get therapy, deliverance, or wise counsel. He did not seek out proper accountability. He instead isolated himself and became self-reliant. He listened to a voice that was not the voice of God, but I promise you God warned him…and several times.
Hear this loud and clear: WHEN YOU’RE UNHEALED AND DECIDE TO STEP INTO LEADERSHIP, THAT IS A PROBLEM! God does not platform unhealed traumatized people to speak on His behalf. He sits you down and walks you through a season of healing, forgiveness, deliverance, and learning Him...if you allow that season to happen. When you don't the devil will use people to trigger you, to incite a response; to provoke a lapse of self-control; to get you out of order…to open a door to the enemy…to instill bitterness or unforgiveness deeper into an already wounded heart.
Unchecked, your ministry, platform, social media presence, influence, visibility, etc., can become one strongly similar to Jim Jones.
